Default DIY: Lexus ISF/ISx50 Cluster Removal

Hey CL,

Wanted to go ahead and make a DIY thread with a quick overview of what you need to tackle this job. This is mainly for those who wants to swap out their clusters, customize or repair burnt LED's, concealing certain lights such as AFS or TPMS, or whatever you desire. Video of complete DIY provided at the bottom. Lets get started!

Tools needed:
-Phillips Screw Driver
-Plastic Trim Tool

Time till completion:
-Roughly 5 minutes to remove and/or reinstall.

Quick steps:
-Turn on and off the vehicle as it may help in the process of removing parts.
-Turn steering wheel left and/or right while car is on.
-Remove steering column cover using a phillips screw driver. ( 2 screws )
-Push upper column cover up.
-Remove panel cover on outer left side of dashboard. ( trim tool )
-Pull down kick panel with your hands carefully. ( few yellow tabs )
-Allow kick panel to hang freely.
-Remove ( 2 plastic screws ) cluster trim upper area.
-Remove ( 2 screws ) cluster trim lower area.
-Pull out trim slowly and then move it to the right carefully.
-Push and pry upper cluster tabs ( gray and brown ) on both sides and pull cluster forward.
-Unpin 2 harness clips from the cluster and pull cluster to the side.

Reinstall everything in opposite order.

I do not take any responsibilities for any damages as this is just a quick guide for those who are visual learners or want to see it first hand to build confidence in taking this job yourself. Thank you for your time and subscribe to my YouTube channel: KANTSTANDLAM GARAGE for more DIYs.

Saw the other thead too. Appreciate what you did to F club. Do you have any chance to do the steering wheel swapping? The way you did is more in details.

By remove steering wheel column, is it also can lubricate/add grease for the power tilt/telescope steering ? mine is making squeaky noise in summer when the interior is warm. thanks for the instruction.

Your videos are very helpful and educational. They help in so many ways. I usually tackle items like this without any thought and can figure it out, but your videos help with understanding what needs to be done before we even think about doing it. "Failing to prepare, is preparing to fail."
