Lexus ISF motor oil.
Talked with the guy that sold me my car Shaun and asked what kind of motor oil he used. He said Kendall full synthetic. He told me that is what Yamaha recommended Lexus use on the engines. Very interesting since one of his good friends I met used to work for Lexus and test drove the F before it was on sale. Anyone else have any more info behind this?

Interesting, I was recommended ULX110 Liquid Horsepower (I believe sold in Australia) by a Toyota mechanic, it's not a full synthetic though. Does anyone know what the factory lexus motor oil is?

I am curious as well. And I am going to assume the owners manual says Toyota motor oil lol. But at the time Lexus had never built such a sophistocated motor in a car.

While we wait for Lance's explanation, I don't think their is any recommended brand as long as it's 5W-30. My local Lexus Dealership is filling it with conventional 5W-30 (Castrol) and they can add synthetic for a extra charge. It's really up to your preference on what brand you want to use. Many use Mobil1 and some use Royal Purple, Motul, Liqui Moly, or Redline. A good thread to probably read up on is the blackstone UOA Analysis. That should give you an idea on what matters and what doesn't.

The quoted statement is dead accurate. You're not going to find out what oil Lexus used for development. The most you will get from Lexus is what is in the owner's manual. Yamaha isn't talking either. I would be very surprised if it were Kendall just because you are not going to find Kendall oil in Japan very easily.
