MAF and Throttle Body Cleaner
I had the intake off today, and noticed that there is gunk in my TB:
Is this normal? The car has 65K miles on the clock. Should I run some TB cleaner through it, and at the same time MAF cleaner through the sensor?
Also, I looked at my stock airbox and was wondering if this needs replacing:
What is this?

Firstly that TB gunk is normal, especially if you've never cleaned it through the 65k miles.
I usually clean my TB whenever I'm cleaning out my filter.
I use some WD-40 on a cloth and wipe off the gunk.
Be careful on the MAF as you need to use the right cleaning products so you don't mess up the sensor.
I believe only Isopropyl Alcohol is used for MAF cleaning, I don't know of any other product that can be used to clean the MAF

I was going to use CRC TB cleaner for the TB, and CRC MAF for the sensor.. I've been using it for years before, but I never worked on the F.
I don't suppose anyone here also uses the 'Seafoam'? Or is this a dated maintenance task?

They recommend that you clean your MAF every time you change your air filter. I clean my MAF once year, make sure you use quality MAF cleaner they are designed not to damage senor on MAF. I use CRC MAF cleaner, if you haven't cleaned your MAF once you cleaned it you will notice sharper throttle response, you'll feel slight bump in power and better fuel economy

If there is anything on your MAF or in your intake tube, your filter is not filtering and you might as well just run without one.
