Default N2O Help!

Hey Club,

I have been on here for a while just never posted or made an account lol. I tried searching for the info I need, but came up empty.

I have a Zex EFI kit, same as darbs242.
[URL="https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-f-2008-2014/580411-install-and-dyno-je-zex-100-shot.html"]

Everything has been fairly easy to install..Will post pics when its finished.
I need to know 4 important things before I can shred tires.

-Which wire on the TPS harness is the one to connect the controller to?

-Which spark plugs and gap are the correct ones to use with Nos?

-Since the timing is suppose to be retarded for anything over a 75 shot, how do you do that if you want to do a 100 or 125? and how do you check the timing before to make sure its 0 degrees?

-What type of thread lockers should be used? Loctite or teflon tape?? or nothing??

Any input would be much appreciated!

To be honest, this isn't stuff to play with if you are not experienced with these types of systems. You will benefit the most going to a reputable shop to do the work and have less worries of something going wrong

For the 1st question ask darbs himself.
2nd question ask MrSlay
3rd i believe the ECU tunes itself so you dont have to worry about it. Start off with a small shot then work your way up and diagnose any problems from there. if you have any knock retard, which you shouldn't if running under a 200 shot i suggest you pull the system and check any lines and connections maybe you messed up somewhere.
4th use a Teflon paste for ensured safety as Teflon tape can break off and enter the engine.

Thanks for the help, I dont have much experience with NOS but I do work on cars frequently. I have a build SRT4 that is pushing 550+ at the wheels on 27psi, I did most of the work myself.

The only things I have left on the system is to replace the plugs and wire the TPS. Everything else is finished and looks pretty good..

Tps wire is green/yellow btw, sorry I forgot to check when I got home yesterday, there is a fuel resistant liquid type thread sealant that Autozone sells, it's in a small squeeze tube.

Okay thanks!

Do you use the thread sealant on all the connects? nos and fuel or just fuel?

You can use one step colder plugs or OEM they should be pre-gapped with a small shot the factory spec gap will be fine.
You can't retard timing so you should set it up on the dyno and watch AFR you can run a little more fuel instead of retarding the timing.

I am running a 125 max shot.. Starting with a 75 to make sure everything is working properly then I will work up to a 125. I will probably go with the colder plugs just to be safe.. That looks like a fun project lol.

What is the target AFR to be looking for with Nos? I know these cars run rich so in the 10.2-10.8 range with nos?

Bump..

A local shop said I should go with Delco IKH 24 spark plugs. They are 1.5 steps colder then stock.

I am having trouble finding them. No local stores sell them so I am going to order them online. Amazon has them, but there are 2 options.. one for $8.63 the other for $40.12. Seems like a pretty big gap.. Not sure exactly what to do here..

If you can look up the number to Everett wa Carquest Steve is the guy to talk to, tell him your friends with lane and Justin and he will likely hook you up, he might not really know nos stuff but he can help with the plugs

Little update.. Got the system finished up. Went with IKH 24 plugs that are 2 steps colder. Running a 75 shot right now and it is VERY quick. Haven't had a chance to Dyno it yet and make sure its not leaning out. It runs very smooth and feels great so I probably wont go up anymore since N20 isnt cheap where I live. It should be making around 460whp. Car spins the tires into 3rd lol.

Here is some pictures. Sorry they look bad, it was dark out.

I am doing upgraded Hawk track pads and lowering springs in the front to help with the braking. The roads seem a lot shorter now for some reason....

460whp? Sounds like music to my ears! So you're sticking to a 75 shot...any other mods done to the car? Does the power feel natural? Or does it come in all at once conce? I've never driven a car with NOS. Nor seen one in action in person. Might consider this mod down the pipeline

I feel exactly like how you just explained this. The only thing holding me back is the CA SMOG and I'm pretty sure it will not pass visual inspection.
