Default Takeda intake

Do anyone know what this hole is for on a takeda intake

Yes, The Cone Filter is too large for the confines of the intake enclosure box. That opening is to allow the filter to fit inside the box with just that small area protruding outside.

Note: The box couldn't have been made larger because it mates to the front of the stock assembly and also because of the space confines.

Note this could allow for some heat soak. Whilst I can't deny the induction noise from the Takeda was really nice, the car actually lost power!

Given they are by no means cheap, I'm surprised how poorly these perform.

Do miss the induction noise, but the new exhaust has eased that pain!

How much power did you lose. I never dynoed my my F before I changed my intake, but with PPE Headers, Dual Mode Exhaust with Hi-Flow Cats, and Takeda Intake I dynoed at 393 RWHP. Without the cats I would have been over 400.

Nothing huge, think it was 9-11HP? Still, not good from something that claimed to increase HP.
