Wheel Warranty?
#2
I believe the wheels would be covered under our factory warranty. However, a couple things - have you ever used any harsh cleaners on the wheels? That could cause the issue with the paint coming off. Is it all wheels or just one?

The wheels on this car are a nightmare especially for an OCD guy like me. I have a great mobile wheel guy that makes them perfect but it seems like every few months I notice a small chip here and there. My buddy managed to get the wheels on his Infiniti replaced by really being persistent with his service manager. His car was out of warranty but his wheels lost all the finish and looked like crap, they still covered replacement with no warranty.

Dealer just told me that unless i purchased wheel/tire insurance when i bought the car its not under warranty. Only problem is I bought the car used from a toyota dealer down in Delaware.....so no wheel/tire insurance

Lexus honored a one time refinish on my wheels. Just got them back 3 days ago and they look brand new again.
They refused to give me new wheels as they came with a msrp of just shy of 10k. But I was happy that they did something for me.
I did not have any wheel warranty purchased etc. My wheels were flawless, free from curbing and scratching. It was pretty obvious it was the brake dust. I took high resolution photos with my dslr and the dealership sent it to lexus Canada for a verdict. Glad they worked in my favor
Good luck fellas!

Can the wheels be refinished by a good body shop, or is there something that is unique to refinishing wheels that they cant do it?, mine has a few minor chips and would like to get this fixed as well...anyone went that route?

Wheels can easily be fixed by any paint shop or mobile wheel guy. I recommend the mobile route cause no real downtime with the car. My guy charges $60 per wheel even if it's curbed and he gets them looking brand new again and only need to let car sit for a couple hours for clear coat to dry when he is done.

I had mine painted black, then powdercoated clear. They are holding up very well to the OEM brake pad material so far, but they are easy enough to clean with Iron-X.
