Default **** about gas and oil changes?

So how many people only use Shell's nitrogen gas or Castrol's Synthetic oil, etc?

what is nitrogen gas? In Canada, we have Sunoco Ultra 94. All the other stations only go upto 91 octane. Ultra 94 is what I use right now.

mobile1 15-50 bc of the better additives it has compared to the regular mobile1. its designed for race engines but its also a little pricey at $9 a quart. And i always try to use shell when available however if i see a sunaco 94 around i will fill up with that also.

It's cheaper to refine 91 octane. Plus with the added taxes we have, 92 and greater octanes will cost us more. We used to have 92 back in the early 90's. Currently, the average for Premium in CA for a Top Teir gas station is about 2.35/gal avg.

0w-20 is not recommended for the F. In fact, the 5w-20 recommended for the 250 and 350 is not recommended for the F. Only 5w-30 is recommended by Lexus.

I'll be running Mobil 1 5w-30 as soon as I change the oil (10k miles) and I'll be doing an oil analysis for the 5k and 10k changes so I can learn how this engine wears.

I use Shell gasoline, but only because I have a Shell MC and it gives me a 5% discount.

Cali 91 behaves like 89. California had 93 octane until 97. They dropped it to 92, then 91 in 1999. Tosco sent out a letter describing the change. It's not profitable to produce 93 octane with the required oxygenation California specifies, so they make 91 instead. I paid $2.149 for 93 octane Shell premium today when I filled up - just another reason I left the Golden State - poor gasoline giving poor mileage that costs more per mile than any other state in the union.
