TracknIS,
I have read that the IS F will have solid lifters. Please try to find out for us if periodic valve inspection/adjustment will be part of the required maintenace for the IF S, and if so how often will the valve inspection/adjustment be required and how much will it cost?
Thanks,
Bruce

Since I reside in Vegas and purchased a Neiman Marcus IS-F, what do you think the chances of getting an invite? Maybe I can sneak in or peek thru the fence. I'm told no other Neiman Marcus was purchased anywhere near here. Hopefully they are right, since one of the reasons I bought it was because it was different. Went to Bellagio the other day and in the valet area we're 2 McClarens. Let me know when you have a date for this training.

I'll post more information as they become available to me.
Bruce,
As far as i know, all UR series engines uses hydraulic valve lash adjuster and does not require service. one thing that you have to do is to make sure you run the recommended engine oil in those engines to make sure its proper oil viscosity is maintained for proper operation.
The IS-f does have titanium valves and uses hollow out cam shafts just like those in the 1UR and the 2UR. i really think its just a much beefy version of the 2UR-FSE which is used in the LS600h, but tuned for max performance.
i'll defnally ask about that to confirm. keep the questions coming.... i'll gather as much as i can both answers and questions from here when i go and i'll post them when i find out.

Just as a follow up to my last post - I had lunch last week with my sales guy along with a friend of his from TMS for the district and I asked about attending the training event. The short answer was not to get my hopes up, but more details are forthcoming. I think the TMS guy took my request as one to actually drive the IS-F at dealership training, not just to observe, which might explain why his context tended towards the negative. My sales guy said he would give me a call if he hears anything.

The IS-F doesn't use hydraulic lash adjusters. It will need to be inspected every 60k miles or 48 months. If they need to be adjusted, shims will be replaced to make corrections.

Thanks lxgs4. Please tell us your source for this information and where we can learn more about this maintenance requirement. For example what will the dealers be charging for these valve clearance inspections/adjustments.

I believe the valve inspection is part of the 60k mile service. What the dealer will be charging is something I can't comment on. Each individual dealer has their own prices. Best way is to call around when the vehicle is out to compare.
As for the source, I'm a technician for a Lexus dealership in CA.

Thanks again lxgs4. If and when you learn more on this subject please share it with us. I have owned cars and motorcycles that require valve inspections/adjustments, and they can be a pain in the a**, and can be expensive. However, it will not stop me from buying an IS F. I think this car is going to be a great fit for what I am looking for in my next car purchase.
