About to go High Mileage!
My first post beyond the intro.
Two months ago I bought and fell in love with my gorgeous 2010 350C. She has 52,000 miles on her and my plan was for her to be a low (10k per year) mileage car.
The good news is that I've just been offered a great new job. The bad news is that my new commute will be 1 hour each way. So much for my plan to keep the miles down on my 350C.
I am planning to add the "F" shift *** and to get the brake calipers painted "F" blue.
Anyone have an ideas on how to protect this car while racking up the miles or to enhance the driving experience?
Your more experienced input welcome!
Thanks

Stay on top of maintenance. Don't spend a lot of money customizing a car that's going to be depreciating at an accelerated rate. Seriously consider a hooptie for the back and forth commute. Good luck with the new job!

Classic SC3,
Thank for the feedback. Glad my question was taken seriously. When you refer to a bra do you mean the clear plastic (?) one offered by Lexus? Good thoughts on the coolant and oil change intervals.
Much appreciated.

ColtM4A3,
Yep my customization will be minimized due to the projected mileage. Thought about selling her as I think I can come out whole. As I literally look forward to every drive I take I think I will hang in there.
Thanks for the tips.

Is your commute highway or in town driving? If highway unless you are sitting in stop and go traffic there is no reason to change your oil sooner than the 5K interval in fact if it is mostly hwy speed miles you can go longer than the 5K with no harm. Highway speed miles are some of the best miles you can put on your car, low RPM long distance than sit all day and drive home on hwy after work. This is almost the perfect situation for long life of your engine. All of my former commute cars have gone well over 220K miles with no engine oil related issues and oil changes were between 8 and 10 K with Castrol 5w30 dino oil.
