Default Who Has the Highest Mileage on their Gen3?

So I took my 2010 RX350 in for service last month, and once again the service agent commented on my high mileage. Which got me to wondering...how high is high?

As of last night, I have 88,253 miles on my car, which was purchased Nov. 30, 2009. So 41.50 months of driving, an average of 2126 miles per month (it was actually at 15K miles the first 13 months, and then I moved).

Anyone have a higher mileage count than that on their Gen3?

Sandi

I don't think I have the highest, but as of 2:18 May 15, 2013 I have 55,695 miles. I think I might be the only one who has added the most miles in a year though. Bought April 9th, 2012 with 21,349 and since then I've added 34,346 miles.

Sorry, Sevn, that's me too.

We moved to the new place in March 2011. From January 2012 to December 2012, I put ~45K miles on the car.

Ouch, that's a lot of miles Sandi. I'm presently sitting under 25K at not quite 3 1/2 years. And the mileage will drop when the office moves later this year, cutting my daily commute in half I'd sooner take mass transit than drive any considerable distances in the RXh. Fifteen miles can easily translate into an hours' travel time around me, much more if there's an accident or bad weather. So mileage doesn't count as much.

Ha! I moved further out - from 10 miles each way, to 55 miles each way. But we got a house on the water, with a deck and a dock. So no regrets.

I live in the Bay Area - now on the outskirts. It's 30 miles to the nearest BART station, and then anther 25 miles to work from there. So mass transit isn't much of an option. I've done it a couple of times. Drive 30 miles, and park. Take a train, then transfer trains. Get to town, take a shuttle. Total time: ~ 2 hours.

On my worst driving day, there was a suicide when someone threw themselves off a freeway overpass. It took me *3* hours one way to get to work, because they shut down the freeway totally. Usually, it's a RT of ~ 3 hours. Still not terrific, but worth it to get the h*ll out of Oakland. (Or is that, to get out of the h*ll that is Oakland? I forget).

Sandi, that's some serious seat time in your RX. But I'm sure you're comfortable and your house location sounds fantastic. As for me, I'm spoiled. It's less than 20 miles round trip to work, going down to about 10 miles by the end of the year. It's also along a major route to NYC. I take backroads to avoid sitting in traffic because it's inevitable. So I imagine I won't go too far beyond 50k miles, maybe even less, before I trade in just like my previous RXs. Strangely enough, mass transit options are limited. I'm looking to move further away and take advantage of the train station near the new office. It's not that I don't enjoy driving my RXh. Rather I'm looking to spend less time behind the wheel, maybe do other things during the commute. The stress level will definitely go down too.

Have you considered trading in for a newer RX? For a short time you'd have the least amount of miles

I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum. My 2010 RX350 has 9,400 miles on it. First put into service in October 2009. I purchased it last October (2012) as a CPO with only 3,400 miles on it.

Ha! Nope, I never planned to rack up this many miles when I plopped down the cash in 2009. It hurts my heart to think of the depreciation. The only way to make that less painful is drive the RX350 to at least 300K miles.

Besides, we bought a boat, and I don't want two payments. One is enough for now.

Wow, now *that's* great for you.

I bought mine Nov. 30th, 2009. So not very long after yours went into service.

So, nearly two years later, and I have 141,200 miles on my RX350. It's 5 years, 5 months old. So 141,200/65 = 2172 miles per month.

Do I still have the high mileage award?
