Wind Deflector.. SCORE
When I ordered my car, the dealer asked if I wanted the wind deflector. It is about $600 plus another fee to prep the car for it. WOW. what a giant rip-off... I said "No thanks", knowing that I could get an aftermarket one a lot cheaper.
I happened upon a used on for sale locally (on CL) for $400 from a gent who sold his car and has no use for it any longer.. I offered him $200 and after 2 weeks of no bites, he called back and agreed to sell it to me.
I met him this morning and picked it up. The only thing I can compare this to is the BMW one I had for my M3 and I can only say that this must've cost Lexus about $50 to produce.. It's pretty cheesy and I'm so glad I didn't pay $600 for this. As far as the "prep" goes, all I have to do is take off the little caps covering the holes where it mounts.. EASY.
He shoots, he scores!

I'll get some pictures up later in the week.
The wind deflector is good when it's a little cooler out.. Not something I will use often, but it really extends the convertible season.... and here in NorCal, it gets cool at night - even in the summer, so that is nice too.

For anyone else looking for one of these on the used market, the ISC has caps on the little holes where the wind deflector rods get inserted. These caps come off and you will need to get them replaced with the barrels, which is part of the install kit, which runs about $70.00... something to keep in mind.

Part number for the install kit only is: PT933-53100-WS

Nice purchase Tom! I insisted my dealer include the wind screen on my new car purchase and they installed it. Unbelievable how well it works. I can drive places and not have "hat-hair" anymore since there is no wind to mess it up
BTW: I never saw my screen folder up into "quarters" since the dealer put it in. I can easily remove it when I need the back seat but I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO FOLD THE SOLID SECTION. How do you do it? I see the hinge in the center on the 1 side, but the other side has some sort of black cylinder slipped over it and I can't see how that solid half, folds in half without breaking something. Any advice would be appreciated.

pics of install
I did the install of the wind deflector.. The install kit instructions were awesome and it took about 15 minutes to get it all done.

That looks awesome! You ordered it all that way? Great color combos, the red/black interior and looks like white exterior? And you already named her.
On xmas day, my partner and I also took a drive to the beach with the top down of course. We did a lot of screaming at all the other convertibles ( "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!" ) who can't seem to put the top down when its 77 deg on christmas day.

I have 2 convertible pet peeves....1, like you said, beautiful day and the top up. No excuse for that. 2, top down but the windows up. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrg. That one really gets me.
I don't know when I will get to put mine down again.

I name all my cars.. not sure why.. My folks did the same.. the name Ruby to me says "aging pole dancer with a bit of a fat ***". the whole look of the ISC says "junk in the trunk" with the kinda awkward and bulky trunk area.. and with the red interior, "Ruby" just seemed right..
I used to think having the top down with the windows rolled up was lame.... I don't judge like that anymore.. everyone has their own way to enjoy a convertible... it's all good.
