New Here - 2015 IS250 F Sport
Hi there! I'm seriously considering buying a beautiful 2015 IS250 F-Sport (Lexus certified, used).
I've never owned a luxury car before (moving on up from a Hyundai Tuscan Limited) so I'm wondering how pricey they are to own/maintain/repair once the warranty is up? Is it true that I should expect to drop at least a grand every time it needs something (oil, hoses, shocks, struts, electrical components, etc?)
Any feedback that you can share is much appreciated.

Welcome to CL.
In my experience, owning a Lexus costs no more in maintenance than owning a Toyota. I've spent no more maintaining my IS, GS, or RX versus my Highlander, Tacoma, or 4Runner.

Interesting! Thanks for your fast response. Do you have your Lexus vehicles serviced at a Toyota dealership, or a Lexus?

You COULD service your car at Toyota, because its basically the same sht as if you were to do it at Lexus. It just Lexus labor rates is like 2x the rate of Toyota.'
If you are buying CPO, double check if the dealer will include 2 years of maintenance. I know some comes with it, mostly depending on dealers.

Maintenance is cheap and reasonable. Unlike other luxury brands..

My 2015 gets local service from an independent shop that does great work for a fraction of dealer prices. One of the best things is that they don't complain when I bring in parts bought online for them to install.

In my experience so far...
Ownership costs are low due to the reliability of the car.
Maintenance costs, like other's have mentioned, are not much worse than other cars such as Toyota. Especially if you don't do maintenance at the dealership. Although replacing this car's tires will cost a lot more than on a Hyundai Tuscan, IMO.
Repair costs, however, can be astronomical. If your car frame gets bent in an accident and a few components or body panels need replacing your repair bill could easily grow past $10,000. Be sure you have enough property damage coverage. Probably at least $20,000 before an insurance company would call a 2015 IS 250 a total loss.
Ohh, and lastly, get an IS 350, not a 250. No rugrats.
