Default Insurance Question

My sister and I like to switch cars every once and a while for a week or two. Would it be ok for her to cancel her insurance on her NX, and I add the NX to my insurance policy that I have for my IS. So I would be the insurance policy holder for both her NX and my IS, but I would have both of us listed on the policy as drivers. She lives one state over if it matters. And it is way cheaper if I insure both cars at my address vs at hers for some reason. Or do we need two separate policies with both of us listed as drivers on each policy? thanks!

Why don't you call and get a quote? Insurance laws are different for every state.

Who owns the cars? Whoever is the owner is the insured party. Generally you can't add a car to your policy if you don't own it and have it registered in your name. There are exceptions ("non-owner policies") but I think you'd find them unduly restrictive.

Just call your agent and ask. I'm sure they will know.
