Default Insurance claim question

I got into a minor accident the other day where I was rear-ended and I was wondering if I make a claim through the other person's insurance company would this affect my premium? Ive been under the assumption in the past that it will not but I'd just like to be sure. The damage is minor so if it's something that would affect my insurance in the future I would consider foregoing a claim and just live with the damage. What do you guys think?

If you're going through the other person's insurance then your insurance company will never need to know about the incident thus not affecting your premium. Hopefully you have a police report putting the other person at fault which will help you file a claim.

if minor damage, it is not good to go through your own ins. Just file claim with the other insurance. You are rearended, so 100% they were at fault. This will not affect you ins premium...
I am an ins agent for 5 years, so don't worry about it..

Ohh, they will know.. anytime there is a claim, ACL report will show but it is not a CHARGEABLE claim, so don't worry...

Well the only concern I have is that when I make the claim his insurance company will want my insurance information as well then I am sure they will contact my company. Also, I did not get a police report as the other driver was clearly at fault and the incident was not a big deal. The other party is being very cooperative with the situation so I doubt that there will be any issues when making the claim.

Ok, thanks for the quick reply. Looks like I'll be making the claim. Thanks again.
