IS350 - F sport vs Luxury? Looking to buy
I am considering buying an IS350, pending some test drives on a few cars. However I was disappointed to find that you can't get some luxury features if you pick the F sport package. Is that true or am I misunderstanding their website?
I really like the look of the F sport and the active suspension (sport+) sounds like it could make the drive more fun. But I can't get basic luxury features such as memory seats or rain-sensing wipers. I don't really understand the logic here, why would they be mutually exclusive?
If it's true and I can only pick one or the other - do people find F sport to be worth the lack in luxury packages? Is the drive just as fun without the sport+ option?
Thanks guys!

As far as I know it's one or the other. The F-Sport still has some nice luxury features... I have BSM, VGRS, powered steering wheel, & Navi as options. You can also get ML audio. All 2015's come with heated and cooled seats. I do sometimes wish the car came with memory seats as options (Lexus should make this standard in all of their cars...). I don't really care for rain sensing wipers, personally.

Thanks - the more I search this forum, perhaps I should throw the GS 350 into the mix as well? It has a bit more of the mix I may be looking for.. but will the price be right?

Depends what you value in a car more, memory seats and rain sensing wipers or the f sport looks and suspension. I wanted something sporty-ish and I think the f sport adds enormous curb appeal to the car. However, memory seats would be nice, my 2009 BMW X3 had memory seats...so my 2015 lexus IS350 should as well, but I digress. It really comes down to what you like more.

Options are limited because of the pricing... if we could put F-Sport together with luxury, the price of our cars would compete with the GS lol. It's an inconvenience that we cannot have everything we want in this car..
I'm not much of a luxury person. The only luxury items I wanted were memory seat and tilt/telescopic steering wheel. But after spending a few months with my F-sport, I kinda got over it and just had fun with my car. I don't need any of those luxury perks anymore.
If you feel that you can't give it up, maybe you should try looking at a GS 350 F-Sport?

If I had to do it over again, I would get the 350 with luxury and buy an FSport front bumper, throw on some coilovers dor that "sporty" feel. The only thing you would be missing would be the gauges which after a while arent really that special.
If you arent planning on modding the car just get the Fsport

I bought the F sport for the looks and the seats, the front grille and moving tach was what got me. I still love it, I rarely use the tach feature but its still a fun car!!! no regrets!!!
its all about taste and preference, I don't care for memory seats, vented seats and all those small features.

This topic has been discussed ever since the 3G IS350 became available. Go back and look for old threads.
I came from a 2G IS350 and was planning to get the luxury version until I experienced the F-Sport which I bought 17 months ago. The seats, the grill, the gauges, the tire package all come together to make the F-sport worth it in my opinion.
It helps now that the F-sport comes with the cooled seats. It sucks not having auto wipers and seat memory and park assist but they are easy to live without.
Due to a wreck I am probably going to replace it with a 2015 and there is no doubt that I am going to get the F-Sport again, and I am thrilled that I now get the ventilated seats as well.

Not a bad solution, but for me that's a little too much work/hassle and expense just for memory seats and auto wipers, especially at the expense of the gauges, seats, and other features.
