Seeing I live in TX where it gets super hot in the summers I was thinking of having remote start put on my car. for those who have it do you think it is worth the $500 the dealership is going to charge me for it?

Also for those who dont have it what do you think, get it or no?

The only thing that would make me consider a remote start would be during the winter if I parked outside. I park in the garage so it's a non-issue for me. The heat in summertime doesn't really bother me as my car will cool off quick enough for me. But, if heat bothers you, then you could start it and cool off the car before getting in. If I were leasing the car I don't think I'd do it.

If you think you'll use it....I say go for it.

My last 2 vehicles came with remote start and frankly I forgot I had it most of the time. I agree with previous poster it is more useful in northern climates if you park outside. If anything to get the windshield started on defrost.
The problem I found is the range isn't far enough. I live in Florida and when I left a bldg. and turned the engine on the car wasn't cooled off by the time I got to it. .

But the heat really bothers me because I do have to park outside in the hot sun most of the time.
I think I would use it, I had it on my IS 300 via Viper Alarm system, and used it pretty frequently.

I think i am going to pull the trigger and go for it.
