I refuse to mount a front plate on my F-Sport. To answer your question, they are either mounting the traditional way (middle of the grille) or using the tow hook on the front bumper, driver's side. You need special equipment for the tow hook mount.

Refuse to mount mine as well. I'll take the ticket over ruining the look.

Just got my plates yesterday, but will probably leave the plates off for as long as I can, then use tow hook solution.

Mine will stay in the standard middle spot. My preference is no plate, but I don't find it that bad to the point I will remove it to risk a ticket. Also, the look of the plate to the side (tow hook spot) just doesn't do it for me, I prefer a symmetrical look (center).

The 12 years I owned my 1st gen IS300 I never installed the front plates. Similarly, I plan to never put them on my 3rd gen IS250.

Tow hook for me. Got a compliment from the guy who tinted my windows -- said it looked very cool. I refuse to live with any kind of tension over whether a bored LA cop is going to pull me over. Fine is small and all that but I hate contact with police.
