Default Scratch/scrap

When I was parking I scratch the bottom front bumper, Anyone know how to fix it? I'll post a pic up later. It really bugs me, and I only had the car for 4 days.

NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did it just scratch the clearcoat or did it actually go into the paint? You could always buff it out and if that doesn't work use some touch-up paint.

Probably not the first time this will happen. If you can't see it I'd just live with it. It's a car, it is going to get these little dings.

There was another owner somewhere on this forum, maybe in the CT200h section, who put a rubber strip along the bottom lip of the car. I think it was from a garage door seal. It didn't look bad and protected the lip.

Yeah I know, but it just bothers me. Especially since it's a new car and I already scratched it, If it was at the bottom I would be fine

Aww man that's sad to hear. Get some touch up paint, 2000 or 1200 grit automotive sandpaper, rubbing compound and it'll be good as new.

Yup, that looks pretty easy to fix. Maybe a long piece of clear bra material on the lip to protect it?

Touchup and no one will even know you had the scratch.

I know how the op feels. Did that to my brand new Genesis. But I got over it . How about this? I bought a brand new Acura and decided to take a road trip to break it in. . Stopped at a red light just before getting on the freeway. 4 pigeons pooped on it. With windshield wipers slapping time trying to clean the windshield I get on the freeway and as I go under an overpass walkway some drops a big rock on the hood. I felt cursed. I felt doomed. I felt like God was messing with me cuz He didn't like me.

Ended up keeping that car for 5+ years and loved it like no other for the fun and reliability it gave. Sometimes poop just happens.

It's not what happens to you - it's how you respond to it.

Leave poop or hard water spots on your car long enough and it will damage your clear coat or at least give you one heckuva time cleaning it up. Whenever I pass a sprinkler I wash my car in a couple days.

I also had a bumper bottom scrap on my new GS 350 when I was leaving a downward ramp in a shopping mall. The ramp was just a bit too steep for my car. I was like @#$%& as you would imagine. I then found out that one could install Slip Lo underneath the bumper to prevent future mishaps. I am planning on either installing it myself or have an installer install it. The web site is: https://sliplo.com.

Lost count how many times I scratched and bent the front bumper in parking spots, touch-up paint and you will get over it soon.
A cheap lip mod might prevent that in the future.

I would be bothered too, looks especially apparently against the white background. But at least the bumper is just a plastic piece, it won't rust or anything.

Personally just kinda accepted that these things will happen. I've received way worse scratches/dings from other cars through no fault of my own. It really suck but i guess a daily driver is meant to be pristine.
