Default Battery Warmer/Blanket

It's been around -25C in Calgary, I was wondering if anyone had installed a battery warmer/blanket? I noticed the location of the battery is pretty far up on the engine bay, do we need to run a cord extension back down near the hood opening?

Cheers,

Jay

Hope your running Synthetic and why not get a block heater installed instead? Damn that's nasty weather.
