Default Question about spare on my AWD w/ 19's.

Hey guys what's up

I have a is250 awd running staggered 19's with no issues. Wondering if anyone has got a flat and used the 17 inch donut for a short time just to get the car home. Odviously the rolling diamater will be way off and I'll get a check 4wd light. But would the car be ok for a short drive. What does everyone do other then having it towed or full size spare in trunk?

I'm sure for a short drive it would be fine.. I would just be very cautious.. especially if the roads are rough..

You can always run the specs on your donut and see the exact difference in rolling diameter to give you an idea of how bad it is..

The donuts ARE usually the same rolling (outside) diameter. Just measure it and see. In any event, a short distance should be no problem.

The donut diameter is the same as the oem wheels which is 17 inch. My wheels I have now are 19's. So the diamater is gonna be wayyyy off. I could have swore I read when the check 4wd light comes on the car disables the awd so ur running on 2 rear only. Not positive. But maybe then it will be ok for short distance. Have not got a flat yet (knock on wood) lol just wondering what everyone does with awd cars cause I kmow most on here have 19 inch wheels.

Compact spares are not the same outside diameters as the oem wheels. They're 1.1" shorter.

I’m also very interrelated in the answer since most people riding aftermarket wheels are not the same diameter as OEM wheels. Subscribed for sure. Great question OP...

What size are your tires?
