Wont affect anything at all.
ECT does NOT make you accelerate faster. It simply holds the gear in designated speed range. it feels faster because You are in the proper gear to accelerate as compared to auto, unless you floor it the auto tranny will not down shift.
Assume you are cruising the highway at 60MPH. Normally, the auto tranny will have the gear set to 6. If you were to try to accelerate, It will continue to try to accelerate in gear 5 or 6 as compared to accelerating in gear 3 or 4 which should be the proper gear to accelerate with.
In ECT, if you were to cruise the highway at 60, the gear would most likely be set at 4. When you are trying to accelerate in gear 4 as compared to gear lets say 6, You will feel the car pull better since its in the proper gear.
A way to prove this would be to go in to S mode, set the gear limit to 6, cruise down 60 MPH, then when you want to accelerate, set the gear limit to 3 or 4 to force the ecu to down shift, and accelerate. You should experience the same result.

ECT pwr also gives you little bit more throttle response compared to normal or snow mode..

leaving ect power on or off depends on your driving style... if u want to get the most mpg out of your car then leave it off, if u don't care about mpg and like to go and have some fun then leave it on, also if u drive in a traffic jam a lot then leave it on cuz i found that if u leave it in normal the tranny is not quick enough to respond in a traffic jam.... also remember someone on here said leaving in pwr mode also keeps tranny temp down too...
