Default Just purchased MY 06 IS350

It has 180,000kms on it. I purchased it cheap enough threw the dealership I work at.

Question is is it runs perfectly, drives wonderfully, BUT it will short out somewhere and the P/S stops working, heater, battery light, traction light, etc all lights up and then after I park it, the battery is dead....

New to the Lexus so very curious as to what I can do in order to keep this beautiful little sedan as my new project....

Thanks in advance everyone

Cheers from Canada

Awesome board as well you all have here

Sounds like an alternator failure-I'd have it tested. Congrats on the purchase and welcome!

Thanks for the quick reply jadu. I was leaning towards the alt as well. I will have it tested tmrw and i'll keep you all up to date on my progress. Hopefully it will be a simple alt fix and on the rd enjoying this fun little car asap again!

Now to hunt for a decent priced alt...

As jadu said, those are the classic symptoms of an alternator failure on this car. Depending on the age and condition of the battery, all of those deep discharges may cause it to fail too.

Being a '06 IS350 owner that went through an alternator failure, I can agree your symptoms do have me leaning that direction as well.

FYI, a bad alternator can quickly make a good battery go bad. If your battery is nearing its end of useful life, might want to consider a new battery as well.

For sure. I'll be replacing both while I give it a complete once over in the shop.

Alternator changed, running like a dream!

Now next issue in question?

Only getting power to my drivers side window, none of the others including my sunroof are getting any power?

Thx in advance everyone!

They need to be re-initialized after disconnecting the battery. The solution is in our FAQ that is stickied to the top of the forum. I'll link the relevant thread here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...isconnect.html
