Default AUX port replacement?

2006 is250 rwd us spec ML unit.

Hey guys so I have a useless aux port. Took it to lexus 4 months ago to fix, they said 400 and I said goodbye. After they looked for the problem they broke half my centre console.

Now I was wondering can I retro fit a dock to audio jack? has it been done? I want to splice it right in behind the connections of the aux jack.

if you guys understand what I mean and got a build that someone has done let me know

or if its broken and you see why.

cheers

wait if the aux port is faulty, why not just buy a replacement? Probably could find some used ones on ebay for like $40.

If I get what you're saying, you want to fit a normal 3.5mm jack by splicing the wires into it? Normal audio have 3 wires (left, right, and common/ground). It looks like the Lexus one has 4. There are probably 3 wires for audio like normal and then 1 for a signal type wire that tells the system there is something connected to it. You can play around with it or find some diagram for it to see which wire is which? I know there is a Toyota web site you can download wire schematics for a fee ... can't remember it. But it's probably not worth it if you can find the plug on ebay for $40.

Default Aux Port

I haven't had to fix my Aux Port. But I did fix the one on my daughters Matrix. I used these instructions I found on Toyota Nation. Just had to resolder the connector.

Since you have the whole thing out. If you not familiar with soldering. Just buy a new one.
