Integrated shims and anti squeal
I'm going to be changing the brake pads on the IS for the first time and had a question about the shims. I ordered Akebono brake pads and they come with shims already on the pad. First question is should i just run those? Or should i place the OEM ones on them too?
Second question since it already has a shim on it where would i put the anti-squeal?
Heres a picture of the pads incase anyone was wondering

no, don't use the oem shims. Save them though. anti squeal goes on the backside. You need to cover where the piston touches, at the very least. ON the rear the inside pad doesn't go on a piston. YOu can just coat the whole pad for that one, unless you can have a look and see. No need to cover the parts open to the air, but you should have a reasonable margin, so don't put it JUST where the piston touches the pad.
