I just change it every 5000 miles with Mobil 1 like come on the oil is only $40 for 7 qt at Walmart and just 30 minutes to change it urself. So spend $50 every 6 months or so is not that big of a deal. But at least u know ur taking good care of ur car..

I do mine every 10k using Mobil 1 extended synthetic. But change oil cartridges every 5k. Then top off. Wal-Mart has the cheapest price for 5at jugs

Where do you live and drive? If your in a really dusty and dirty environment you should change out your oil and air filter fore frequently. If you live in a clean environment and baby the car you can go further between changes. If you take your car out to the track you should change the oil before and after each track day. Might only have 100-150 miles on the car after a track day but it's hard on the engine and breaks down the oil during those times your engine is at 5,000+ RPM's all day. One mile on a track is equivalent to 300 street miles in a car.

It's preventative maintenance so do what you like. If you plan on keeping the car and don't want problems change it. It's cheap insurance. Have you priced out a new engine lately?

They put 5k in the sticker to have you bring the car back in the get looked over and tires rotated if you have a square wheel setup. Toyota calls for 10k for oil changes. It's very possibly to go that long without issue since they use synthetic

I use full synth, and change every 6 months...don't go far to work and put very few miles on my car, but all my driving is basically side streets, and a few hard accelerations, carbon build up prevention

An yes I should have mentioned the change interval if you don't hit that mileage is 10 months. I personally change mine every 5-6 months also but really only because I get free oil and filters being I work at a dealership. Once I quit to finish school that interval will most likely grow

I use Mobil 1 synthetic and originally intended to change it every 5,000 miles. Wife doesn't normally drive the car 5,000 miles until about five or six months so i change it anyway based on the amount of time that the oil has been in the car.

Agreed. I do the same. I only drive about 10,000 per year so I will do an oil change in January then filter/cartridge change in June/July. I've got 110,000 on the car and the car runs great.
