Question on headlights and parking lights/DRL
Hi, I hope I am posting this on the right section and maybe someone can help me out. I have a 2007 lexus is250. My left headlight bulb went out, also did the little light that comes on with the headlight ( is this the parking light or DRL?) Would the headlight bulb going out also cause this light to not work?
Thank for you help!

The little light is the city lights. The headlight going out should have nothing to do with the city lights to go out. They have their own wire harness. You should check to see if the DRL/high beam still work on that headlight. Sounds like it might be a fuse problem. I would check the fuse before changing the headlights.

Thank you
Omg! thank you so much for the reply! I swear I am going crazy trying to figure this out. So yes my high beams and DRL still work but the headlight doesn't and neither does that city light. I replaced my headlight with one that I had at home ( I thought was new, maybe not) and still nothing. I just ordered new bulbs on ebay, maybe that will work. WHere is the fuse for that light?

If you tried another bulb and it doesn't work. It sounds like a fuse problem or ballast problem if you have HID. I believe the headlight fuse is under the hood by the driver's side. The manual will show the exact fuse and fuse location of the headlights.

You are right. It may be just 1 fuse for both low beams.
I would try to swap the other side's working city lights and low beams to the non-working side to isolate the issue. To determine if it is really the bulb, wiring, or ballast problem.

Its much easier to just swap bulbs and ballasts from the working side to the non working side. It will help you pinpoint the problem pretty fast and its free essentially. No need to start buying new parts when you haven't tested anything.
