Default Ticking noise after start up

Whats guys need some input on this I own a 2008 IS250 with about 73000 miles on it have had it for the past 2 years. I have noticed lately that after it comes to a normal temp. drive around like normal I turn the car off and when I go back to turn it on after its turns on its followed by a ticking noise that goes away after a few seconds. Just wanted to know if anyone else has listen to such a thing. Let me make myself clear it doesn't happen in the morning or when I go turn the car on after its been sitting for 8 hours or more it only happen after I have drove it around stop turn off the car go into a store and 10 maybe 15 minutes later go to turn the car back on it happens. My warranty is about to expire I heard that it might have something to do with water pump. My car has had most of the major service down like carbon build up problem, dealer changed water pump out at about 61000 miles because they said it was leaking. I'm just at a lost any help would help me out thanks.

^ these are all correct. Even if the repair was done, the sound will come back. It did on my IS anyway.

Its usually refer to as rattling and it is probably the cam gears. I'm not sure if is250 cam gear recall are covered on the TSB.

Thanks guys for the feed back I will call into Lexus today to schedule an appointment I just hope my car makes the rattled noise since you all know the tech has to be able to duplicate the noise. Will post after appointment.

Dropped off my car today at Lexus dealership my SA called me 2 hours later told me that they will have to replace my cam gears and that it would take a day or so to order parts and replace. I'm glad my warranty was in affect because I don't think they would have done it without. I'm going to be without my baby for a few days but at least it will get done. I'll up date when it's done.

^I assume Lexus will eat the costs of this part and labor? NOT MANY have been successful in doing what you're getting done here; so I hope they come through with the repair being FREE! The same repair on the IS350s is a known recall and was performed for free on my IS350; so this is a common issue among the 2IS owners.

After a few days at the dealership I got my car back with having to pay no charge because of my extended warranty. No noise any more cars starts up like a champ. But sadly because of my extended warranty expiring in about 1200 miles I think I will be trading in my car very soon possible going back to Nissan.

^Ok, that or a GTR would be the only acceptable replacements from a 2IS I could think of.
