As of about 3 or 4 days ago, I'm getting a rattling noise under the hood near the pulleys. I know water pump failures are common (or at least seem like it based on what i've read) but I don't see any of the pink coolant dried up anywhere. No status lights, car runs great, temps are normal...just the rattling.

Thoughts?

I say water pump. Mine started out like that than one day turned into grinding noise. Mine didn't leak either when pump went. Mine was covered under CPO.

Just because you don't see any coolant crust doesn't mean the water pump isn't bad. The bearing is probably shot, which won't necessarily leak on you. I'd get that looked at or repaired ASAP before it implodes on you.

any idea what dealer charge typically is for that? or how hard it is to diy?

I'm assuming i should at least take it in and have them confirm its the water pump, right? lol

Yea you can do that. But I'm pretty sure its the water pump. I had that exact same noise with a small leak.
