HID - 50w ballast and 35w bulb = ???
Hi
I bought a 50w h11 HID kit but the bulb i received happens to be 35w.
The customer rep says that he would be happy to change my 35w bulb to a 50w labeled bulb but stated that the ballast (being 50w) output is what dictates the bulb outputs
I know they will still work but is this true as I purchased 50w specifically? Also, if true, why do sites stipulate specifically between bulb outputs?
The site is hids-direct.co.uk
As always, any help is appreciated!
Thanks,
Tom

Honestly, I would stick to a 35W kit.

I know about the 55w but I have purchased from the company before and the lights were excellent.
I did want a 55w kit but as they only had 50w, I was happy to go with that

Why go with 50/55w? From what i've seen, a lot of people actually run into issues when running 55w HID's instead of 35w HID's (i.e. overheating the housing and melting/burning it). I would just run 35w. 50/55w is too bright anyways. Headlight itself isn't designed to properly concentrate light from anything higher. I'm assuming the factory bulbs for the UK IS is also 35w here though.
