Default Clear sticker over the gear selector display

Anyone ever have a problem with the clear film or sticker that goes over your gear selection display? Mine has curled up at the bottom, i peeled it a little and it has some sticky residue that gets all over your wood grain. Should I just pull it all the way off? Theres no way its going back on i know that. Whats the best way to clean all that sticky stuff off? Thanks.

its virtually on every IS that comes into my dealership. no one ever notices it nor peels it off, but yes its part of delivery when the vehicle hits the lot.

When I purchased my '06 350 a year ago it still had the OE protective film over it. I played with the edge of it to see if it was indeed still there, and sure enough...still there. The edge got discolored and started to curl, so I pulled it off. The goop left I removed using Turtle Wax bug, tar, sap remover. Worked like charm!

Peel it off and then use a small dab of wax and a microfiber to clean up the residue. Good as new

Lol, I didn't notice mine had a clear film until having the car for a year. It had scratches when I bought it and I was messing around with it and the film came off and I noticed the perfect surface underneath! Goo-Gone works well.
