How to restore ur headlight!
#16
opticoat is pretty much permanent unless you polish it off. Washing with anything, even APC, won't remove it but it will take the wax off your headlight.
I'd only do this if your headlights are cloudy. If your headlights look clear now, then do not do this thinking you are detailing them, as you will remove the protective layer and then they will start clouding up. A coat of wax afterwards will not protect them for very long either so you will then have to look into coating them with a more permanent solution.
There is a huge thread over at AG about using a 50/50 mix of spar urethane and mineral spirits as a long term headlight coating if anyone is interested.

My problem is inside the headlight. I have no back covers/never bought any after buying a used headlight and eventually humidity/dust/bugs got inside turning it kind of yellow.
The only solution is
1. baking it and removing the lense and do the restoration process
2. buy another used one

Yeah. Opti-coat is applied after all the oxidation and imperfections have been removed. Otherwise, it's be a waste. My headlights were cloudy. The detailer removed most of the imperfection and finished them with opti-coat.
It's been several months now and my headlights are still clear.
