Oil Change = Reduced MPG
So I changed my oil recently and instantly saw a drop in MPG. City MPG has droped from an average of 17-19 to 14-17 mpg. I cant even get past 28 on the highway. I think it may be because i put 7qts as opposed to the recomended 6.6. I used 5W-30 Mobile 1 Full Synthetic on my previous change and this one as well. and thoughts?

I think it's pretty normal. I've changed lots of oil on my car and the mileage always dips after the oil change. I've observed that mileage improves close the next oil change though.

Weather? Driving distance? Traffic? I'd say it's hard to compare just one or two tanks of gas and say any one particular factor (oil change) is affecting your MPG's. The only recommendation is to check your dipstick and make sure it's not overfull. Otherwise, it could be any number of factors completely unrelated to your oil change.

Too much oil is worse then not enough oil. There is a 1 qt difference between low and full... MAKE SURE when you do your dipstick it hits the bottom notch and not the top, then you are PERFECT oil range.
