IS to an A5
I Have had my IS for 2 1/2 years now, love it but looking into getting an Audi A5 prestige. Time for a change....
I know many members on here have come from an audi or still have them as well as the lexus. Any thoughts on this car looking at a new 2011 A5 or possibly a used 2010 A5 2.0T engine.
Anyone know of a good forum for the A5 I searched and found a ton of sites.

Audiworld was my favorite forum when I had my S4. (Was a member there in the old days when it was called A4.org) I love the look of the A5/S5, and it would definitely be on my short list if I were looking to get a new car today.

^^ Audizine is a pretty good forum but it's completely different than CL. Its full of info if your search but people there can be really..brutal. I'm still a member but only go there every now and then since i sold the A4 for my 350. A4 2.0T = same engine if you're looking at A5 2.0T. I love Audi's but once you're out of warranty it get's really costly. The engine on the 2.0 has a lot of low end torque: 212hp/280tq. Stage 1 chip and you're already looking at 234hp/333tq on 93oct. Basic bolt ons do the trick. The 2.0 also gets good gas mileage if you're into that stuff

Audizine is definitely the best forum. And slap a k04 turbo on the 2.0t and you'll have a very quick and fun ride. It isn't too expensive and leaves the engine bay looking stock. I miss my Audi some days. Also the a5 is a beautiful car.

+1 audizine. A5 are really nice but I don't know about the 2.0T I actually had an A4 before my IS. The a4 and a5 both have the same engine and I thought it was prett weak. Turbo lag. It is a bit better on gas mileage though. Another thing that Audi/VW cars have are interior creaks and noises. They're terrible.

Been a member of Audiworld since 1999. Always full of great info.
The A5 is a beautiful machine, regardless of which engine you choose. I'd grab a 2.0T, but I don't think it's offered with the Prestige package (I couldn't be wrong). The 2.0T fuel mileage and torque is a winning combo.

audizine is full of just ok. coming from the audi community, use quattroworld.com, after audiworld was bought out by internetbrands, we all boycotted that and JoshD set up quattroworld, with old KAWF software.

I absolutely love the A5, it's one of the few brand new cars I think are truly beautiful and not derivative or unnecessary. The German manufacturers seem to be taking the approach that they need to fill every single niche in the market, however small or specialized. I remember when there was an A4, an A6, and an A8. Now I think they're just trying to use every number they can. The A5 is the only one I've actually liked, and it's one of the best-looking cars on the road.
That said, the 2.0T isn't very quick, especially when compared with the performance you can get from competitors at that price point. I might be able to overlook this, since it's got great handling and quite good fuel economy. But the hang-up for me is that it's an Audi. That means it's going to be more unreliable than most cars and extremely expensive to repair and maintain. If I'm going to take the plunge and sign myself up for the potential reliability headaches with a German car, I want it to be an outstanding performer, instead of just an OK one.
I just checked Autotrader for 2010 A5's across the country, and the prices ranges from $35k-$45k depending on mileage and engine. There are a lot of cars you can get used in that range. I'd be looking for better performance if I'm going to spend that money, but that's something I value; you might not.
Overall though good taste, let us know what you do.

The A5 is indeed a beautiful car...
... Unfortunately, that's just about the only thing it has going for it if you ask me. It's overpriced, overweight, underpowered, and unreliable. I try not to judge people based on the car they own, but if I'm gonna be honest, I think it's the kind of car you buy only if image is your top priority.
