Age Thread followup - Who bought it
After looking at the age thread poll - lots of younger people with 2IS... I certainly think it is a "younger" Lexus than the rest of the lineup, but I'm curious on how you guys got your lexus.
Like 25% of the owners from that thread are under 25... of the younger guys with them, how did you guys afford/buy them? I always worked through high school/college but during that time could NEVER have footed the bill on a car like these...
How many of the sub-25 owners paid for it themself and how many are lucky enough to have parents to help out with such a nice car?
I'm 23 and bought mine on my own after I was offered my first "real" job out of college - they gave me salary in Feb. while still in college (til May) so I figured I was making money doing nothing, might as well put it towards a "grown up" car.
Just curious - not trying to rag on anyone who got a gift from the parents, I've jealous, not a hater

I'm 23 and I bought my 07 is250 off a used car lot. Took out a loan at a local bank of 15k, downed 7.5 with help of family. Now I'm doing full time work, part time schooling, paying 640 a month for 2 years. Almost one year down, one more left to go!

28, sold my two paid off cars: 2006 Honda S2000 and 1997 Lexus ES300, (that I had loans on and paid off myself with my real job) and paid cash.
Its like my S2000 and my ES300 had a baby and its the best of both worlds... Except I cant seem to figure out how the convertible part of the IS350 works???
***I did purchase an 04 IS300 in 2006 when I was 23, I had a real job and I got a loan.

Im 31, ive had more cars than i can remember but my 2IS is by far my favorite....... I dont finance cars anymore id rather buy a used car with cash..... I sold my '03 Cobra and i was dead set on an E46 M3 or E39 M5, but i found a deal on my IS by accident and just happened to have the right amount of cash at the right time so it worked out.
And when i say cash i mean CASH...... (yes those are all hundreds)
= IS350

I would never mod a car I didn't have the title to in case something goes wrong. I remember making payments on a car i blew up for a year in my early 20s. Sucked.

Dont get me wrong i would LOVE an IS-F or even a new F-sport but im allergic to payments Id rather mod what i have and save money every month instead of just throwing money away on interest and depreciation. So ill wait a couple years and pick up and IS-F down the road.
