Dealer charging $450 for spark plug replacement!! Screw it, doing it on my own.
So I called my dealer to schedule and appt to replace my spark plugs and a couple of other things. Rep quoted me around $240 to replace. I was willing to pay that so I scheduled the appt. When I get there on Sat they tell me it was a mistake and that the correct price is $450!
I declined the service and I'm thinking of taking this on myself. I've always worked (brakes, spark plugs, etc.) on my old cars so I have some experience. I know the IS is not the same as my old cars, but I'm willing to give it a try.
Any help, tips, DIY's you guys can give me will be greatly appreciated. I've read several threads; some saying you have to take off the manifold while others say you don't. Anyone know what the real deal is?

I have a 250 with about 62k miles. I did see the makeshift DIY thread for the 250, but unfortunately it lacks detail. I guess its a good start though. I just wanted to make sure I didn't do any extra work that was not necessary.
I did think about buying the plugs and having a local shop do it, but I don't know of any reputable local shop. Its so hard to find an honest shop that you can trust. Unless you guys know of any in the San Gabriel Valley area.
