IS - 2nd Gen (2006-2013) Discussion about the 2006+ model IS models

I use my IS350 like I own it, like I borrowed it, and a little like I stole it.

Default I use my IS350 like I own it, like I borrowed it, and a little like I stole it.

Road Racing at Eagles Canyon Raceway!!

Was doing 110 mph on the back straights. This was the toughest track I've been on. Motorsports Ranch Cresson 1.7 mile and Texas World Speedway were a lot easier compared to this track. This is the 4th HPDE event I've done in the IS350. Everytime I drive it on the road course, I'm happier I didn't get the IS-F. The Additional weight and lack of wider contact patch would have me all over the track. The IS350 is just perfect for me. Even at ECR with the super long straights and very hard braking, I didn't experience brake fade. The vented front brakes did the job. My buddy Ron with his MKIV was running over 150 mph on the back straights and the Carbotech brakes on his TT brakes setup disintegrated and pads went metal on metal!!

I should've used R-compound tires on the OEM wheels but oh well. I should've used my Volk LE37T with the wider wheels and tires but oh well. I had a blast as usual and I'm going back the MSR or TWS after summer comes to an end. This weekend I'll have pictures of the drag strip and dyno at MVP motorsports.

Good stuff. I'm totally with you on the 350 preference. I did the lexus performance driving academy and we had a short track where the instructor with the top time posted it in an FSport 350. Suspension is a little easier to live with too.

Any noticeable degradation in tranny shifting after all those events? I've done 1 event in my own car but I'm nervous to do to much my car is my daily driver and from what I gather there is no transmission temp warning in this car.

The car has OEM sport springs and F-sport sways on it along with custom 1/2" billet lower spacers on the front. The car sits perfectly level and well balanced. I'm planning on going to coilovers someday. Perhaps the HKS Hypermax CLX for the 3GS. It still has too much body roll. The 14938743987 unnecessary airbags in this vehicle make it excessively top heavy.

No issues with transmission yet. I've been paddle shifting the hell out of it at the HPDE events. If it was a true gearbox, I'd be on a third clutch by now (counting the original one). Almost 90% of the time I'm using the paddle shift control on street. I only use the ECT power mode at the HPDE events. The enhanced throttle correlation and shift point enhancement is something I don't want to experience everyday since I have passengers in this vehicle quite often.

FINALLY TO ANOTHER IS350 out on the track....I have done 4 track days here out west. Dude if you havn't done any mods yet, Sway's & coils are a must. I just put on a set of hoosier R6's & lets just say track days got way more fun. I beat the living crap out of my IS350 & i own it, love it & she purrs at me everyday itchn for more track time.
Here are 3 video's of me

Buttonwillow was my first ever track day, Chuckwalla was my lastest with Sway/coils & hoosier r6's.. Tires increased my speed through turns by 10-15mph faster, they just keep gripping, never feel like they are gunna brake loose

With the OEM sport springs and F-sport sways did you feel a lot of body roll????? I am thinking to buy the F-sport sways and F-sport under chassis to eliminate the body roll....
