Not exactly the same symptoms but my NAV unit has been acting up. The buttons on the touchscreen work when the system is up. My issues are intermittent, and happens maybe 40% of the time at startup.
Sometimes at start up the screen remains blank and I don't see the Lexus logo, other times I see the lexus logo and it takes a good 30 seconds to get to the I agree screen. And the strangest case is when I start my car and I see this screen...quite bizarre if you ask me.
I'll probably try checkign the fuses, disconnecting the battery and what not before I bring it in. I've already tried the battery thing once but I guess it won't hurt to try again, maybe save me a couple grand haha.

DUDES THERE IS A FIX FOR YOUR NAVI... IT IS THE 4 wire ribbon on your digitizer that went bad... Look on the CL Forum, I just read it last week so its not far off in the forums... Possible Nav Fix was the title if I remember!

Just happened to me! 07 IS350 with 42k. My car is garaged and I only drive it 3 times a week, at nights mostly. It sees daylight like 1 hour a week. So I don't think its caused by the sun.
But I did hit a curb going 50mph that cracked my rim. Maybe that bump caused a loose connection?
I'm going to try the battery disconnection and diagnostics screen tomorrow. Failing that, I got my car from carmax and has their MaxCare. Should be covered.
