I think all cars are so luxuries now-a-days!! It all depends on your own taste and what you are going to be with and want to keep in the future! And keep in mind all brand new cars with have certain problems that will be hard to fix or solve..

Test drove and spent some time with the IS awd and was impressed. I want to go smaller, lighter and more nimble than my M and really liked the IS. Love the exterior and high quality appearance interior. Issue is I must have AWD and am somewhat bummed at the 2.5 liter 204hp engine when the TL awd is over 300hp, the new Audi A4 is much closer to 300hp and the Infiniti G37 is well over 300hp. I consider all of these vehicles direct competition to the IS awd.

Is there any chatter about Lexus bumping up the size of the engine or even better, adding awd to the 350??? I have looked online, but cannot find anything about it. It would certainly appear on "paper" to be sorely lacking in power and Lexus has to recognize this.

Any help would be appreciated.
These are different classes. The IS250 AWD is $30,608-$38,775 and the A4 is $30,700-$48,800. If the IS AWD was meant to compete with the G37 and the TL, it would be a 350 AWD so aparently its not in the same class

The SUV is really for my wife, for real. I have had, in order, a G sedan, FX35 and now the M35x. Sort of had it with Infiniti and never owned a Lexus. We have two kids, so was thinking about the new GX to be released next fall, but really don't need the third row or V8 and after seeing the 2010 RX pics and all the tech in it; I think my wife would be thrilled and I would not mind driving it on the weekends.

Again, for me the IS350 would be perfect if awd was offered, but at the same time I am not a kid anymore and as long as the 250 has pep and can move comfortably at high speeds, I will be happy. Hopefully they will add a few more features for the 2010 version, maybe some of the RX tech toys, and that would likely seal the deal. I will buy the sedan and only keep it for two years and then maybe move up to the new GS in 2012.

Good thing I'm both of those, so I must have made a good choice with the 250AWD!

i totally wanted the 2nd gen IS, but I really got put off by the lack or rear legroom. I was never a fan of the RX, but then again it would be perfect for your wifey since it is definitely a girly crossover
