In praise of front license plates...
Like a policeman's badge deflecting a bullet and saving his/her life, my front license plate "took the bullet" the other day from a truck's bumper and prevented my front bumper cover from getting scratched. The license plate itself got scratched and bent instead (easily unbent).
Some cars look atrocious with a front plate installed but in my opinion Fioravanti took this into consideration when styling the IS. Without a front plate things appear just a bit unbalanced, as if something is missing. [I am glad, however, the IS does not have busy-looking bumper strips]
Plus I don't present a "cause" to attract "attention" in the front-plate-mandatory state I live in.
Tip: I installed the plate mount myself and used extra short screws for the plate itself thereby preventing two unscreen scratches to the bumper cover.

I agree it looks so much better without the front license plate but I have already been pulled over 2 times in the past 6 months....Just got tired of having the cops pull me to the side and write me a ticket. It also spooks me sort of when the cops flash their lights on me telling me to pull over. Now I just keep my front license plate on

There’s no question that our cars looks better without a front plate. But the real reason we should support front plate laws is not to avoid being pulled over, as often mentioned in these threads, and not just to enhance municipality revenue from those cursed intersection cameras, but to add a valuable tool to law enforcement. With front plates, law enforcement looking for criminal activity like bank robbers, kidnapers and even car thieves, can often not only read license plates in their direction, but those in opposing traffic as well, often doubling their chances of spotting a bad guy.
