Default New tires without TPM

Question: I just installed new tires that came withOUT tire pressure monitors.

after the installation.. i drove the car around... and the flat tire warning lights did not come on. Is this normal?

===========EDIT==================
Maybe i was unclear in my explanation.

I just installed new tires with new rims , and did not transfer over the TPM and do not have any TPM installed on the new tires and rims. They are plain old snow tires with no TPM.

I've driven the car past 40 miles today... and there's still not flat tire warning alert in the dash.

Any cause for concern... this is normal?

Has nothing to do with the tires.......

TPM sensors are attached with the rims.....

If the sensors were not installed, the light usually doesn't come on until you drive 20 miles or so.

if you just changed the tires then you are fine. they dont change the TPMS when you get new tires. if you have new rims and they didnt transfer them over or there are not TPMS compatable then you will see the ligts on the dash. i have winter rims and tires on mine and the system doesnt trip till well after 40 miles...

Just look in your owners manuel on how to reset your tpms. It takes 30 seconds to do.

Are the wheels/tires you took off stored in your garage (if you have one), next to where you park your car overnight? I've heard of instances where the proximity of the "stored" sensors and the "parked" car keeps the warning lights "quiet"...

In all likelihood the warnings will show up at some point. Enjoy it while it lasts ...

its what my car does also. i assume you have the factory rims in your garage so when you start and leave they link up to the car. i have days where the low tire or even check system doesnt go off and i avg 100 miles a day. i was thinking the same thing as to why it doesnt go off more but im glad it doesnt.

i think you are find and have nothing to worry about. enjoy the winter and hopefully you can have the summer rims and tires back on soon enough. i hate our car in the snow.

I had the same experience: new winter tires and rims, without TPMS. At first, no light, but after 10 days and about 200 miles the warning light did come on.
