How high (number) does the volume go up on a base non-ML system? I'm too afraid to try it myself. I listen to it at 35 in when driving in the city and 45 on the highway.

62 then "max" I believe.
Turn the bass back to the mid setting and jam away at max volume....sounds pretty good.
By the way first post! Great forum guys....thanks for all the tips!

I'm about half deaf (old age), and haven't had to put mine past 42, yet. Some CDs aren't as loud as others, and at 42, changing from CD to radio can really scare the c**p out of ya!

Every time I read this thread, I can't help but think of the wonderful scene in the movie "This is Spinal Tap", where bandmember Nigel was telling Rob Reiner how Marshall amps are louder because instead of going up to 10, they go to 11.
