Default Owners with rear shade on their IS

Did you guys notice that if your rear shade is up and you put the car in revers the shade goes down automatically and once you start driving it goes back up. I think it's a cool feature, and makes backing up a lot easier and safer.

Yep, cool feature for sure. Note that the shade only returns to the up position if you put it back in drive AND reach a set speed that I think is either 5 or 9 mph. Several times I have had mine up, pulled in to park, hit reverse to fine tune the parking job, put the car back and drive and ease it into the spot. The shade will not return to the up position in that case so you have to remember to push the button. I wish it would just return to the up position once you put it back in drive.

I agree. It's very annoying that you have to reach 9mph for the shade to go back up. It should go back up if you shift back into drive or park so you won't need to press the button when your done parking.

If it went up once you shift back to D it would go up and down.. when you're trying to park between cars. I think that it's good that it goes up once you go over 9mph but it should also go up once you put your car in park.

That's quite logical and probably why they programmed it this way.
