Default Can anyone tell me what is the power rear sunshade?

Getting ready to shop for a 350. Live in Texas and would liek to get a black interior cuz they look so good.

What is the power rear sunscreen on the Luxury Package. I'm all for avoiding the sun down here!

It's an automatic shade screen that folds up and down. It's more of a privacy screen than a heat shield.

I have tinted my rear windshield and I can still see through the 65% tint and screen. It's hard to see anything inside from the outside though...

So you don't drive around with it? Seems pointless. I'm trying to decide how much I want to 'package it' up.

Performance vs Luxury vs Sport?

here are some images. It does considerably cut out the effects of the sun (my rear passengers have told me) while letting you still see out. It goes down automatically when in reverse and comes back up when in drive.

Up

And Down

I do drive with it up. It depends. If it's sunny enough, or if someone behind me is driving with their bright lights on, or if I want to turn on the dvd player (nav is hacked) and need less light in the cabin, the sunshade is up.

By the way, "Package It Up"!!! Luxury has everything except sports suspension and aluminum foot pedals. You can always add those to the Lux package, but you can't add all the lux stuff on a Sports package...

Thanks - that is pretty sweet when you live in the hot sun much of the year.

i live in AZ and had the sun shade on my Maxima. I think I only used it once. Maybe twice to show it off. I think the tint is good enough to keep the heat out. And the sunshade won't shade the driver. Just the passengers in the back.

Can you put the sunshade up when you park? Between that and a windshield heat deflector it should keep the car a lot cooler when parked all day.

That's a good question. I would assume so. I haven't had the need to play with it since it hasn't been over 60 here in 6 months.

The rear sunshade is for privacy more than anything else. I've used mine maybe twice.

OT, but anyone know if the sunshade will interfere with a radar detector such as the V1 when it is up? I'm thinking it probably will.

The most important feature for a black interior in the Texas heat is probably ventilated seats. I expect mine to (literally) save my butt this summer!
