My IS350 pics with new picked up 2013 GT86 today
Hi all
It's been for a while but here it is. I picked up the new 2013 GT86 pearl white after more than 4 years of long waiting since the 09 design concept and years of R/D design and testing. I'm now in love with the two different rides in the same family at the moment. The luxury smooth ride of IS350 and the new daily ride sport coupe 86. 86 is one of the new best sport car ever come out from Japan, and it's an affordable sport car for enthusiasts. I'm very excited and want to share it all to car enthusiasts in here. My phone camera does not do justice for the real look of the car. There're a lot to say for the car. It's an amazing sport car - great car design and engineering philosophy !
Sunset on the parking roof. It look stunning from every angle with very nice body line& curve.
... look like a real mini Maseratti Gran Turismo in person

The auto w/ paddle is very fast at 0.2 second per specs. I feel it as fast as I have driven and experienced w/ ISF & M3. With the paddle in sport mode, the engine has great throttle response & awesome sound come into the carbine. With full sport traction control off button, I can have a little fun sideway tail kick or tire burnout just like I used to do with my old M/T Celica GT
My favorite LFA style tachodometers. The engine has super nice Hi Rev sound like a LFA but very warmer tone.
The sport bucket seats design with plus 2 back seat. The back seats sit very comfortable than any 80's +2 porsche seats ! Back seats can be folded down flat for any cargo gears; It just can't be better than this for a sport car. The Z design is a turn-off in this department !
Toyota fuel injection d4s sit on top feeding fuel to the Subaru flat 4 boxer engine which sit symmetrically way down below there to achieve lowest center of gravity and symmetry for balance in rotation axis. The center of gravity is lower than the 70k Cayman.. Interesting enough, the Aussie Wheel Car Magazine pulished the article in June 2012 after they test drove the 2 stock cars and stated " The GT86 beat the Porsche Cayman" right on the front red cover magazine! I'm shocked w/ that statement for a humble 25k vs a Porsche??? . Ofcourse it not the straight line power but the steering, handling, balance & numble that probably beat the porsche.
Huge open top space. The car hood is made out by aluminium material. It very light like a feather.
Attached is the short documented video clips by Subaru in the making of the BRZ/86 twin from new ground up.

Part 1
Part 2
And this is what the final result for 86 "hachi roku" as Chris has said in his final words after test drove on the race track early March 2012.
Have a little fun time in control.

Wow congrats! I can't wait to try one out at the dealer. But 200hp seems to be a bit underpowered on this type of vehicle, would be a lot more fun if it has 250hp+. I do like the toyota badge over scion though lol
They are the same car. In other countries this car is under Toyota, and named as GT86.

Most of car people know this car but just to clarify for some. Toyo 86 is the real name for this car except for North America US and Canada. North American Scion division want this car badly and name it FRS under their division. They name it to scion FR-S, but it truely the same car. I just can't stand it then ordered the original toyo badge imported from Japan. Subaru has this car and call it BRZ ( Subaru engineer the car with their boxer flat 4 engine, and toyota architectually design the car body from their past GT2000 & AE86). Anyway, so there are 3 cars with 3 names in the world today will be driving around all over the place . 86 will be replacement for my prelude as a daily drive.
