Most miles driven in one tank. MPG.
Hey guys, after my car comes back from the shop i plan on taking a road trip. Does anyone know how long an IS250 can go on a tank of gas?
I usually drive mostly suburban areas and when i do freeway driving, I don't pay attention to my MPG. I drive my car like ti supposed to be driven, casually 70% and sporty 30%.
So my question is, whats the longest you've been on a tank of gas?

For the 2008 IS250 (Manual trans.) the published mileage is:
My car's lifetime average shows right around 24mpg, but since I've got that third pedal, careful driving can stretch that petrol a lot longer if needed! Austin, TX to Waco (100 miles) landed me this a few months back:

Yes, but the manual gets inferior mileage to the auto, and 97% of 2IS buyers have an auto.
(likewise folks with AWD models will see inferior mileage too to their auto RWD brethren, but not as bad as the manual which is the worst mileage of all 250 sedans)
The official #s for your manual are 18/26, the auto of the same year gets 21/29....the AWD is 20/26
And those are all the "new" EPA numbers, which seem to run lower than real life in my experience.
I get 28-30 on the highway in my 350 (the new EPA numbers say I should get 25, the old ones said 28, one of the reasons I'm not a fan of the newer measure), so I'd expect a RWD auto 250 to put up 30-32 all highway in real life.
There's a number of other threads already on this topic though, some of them very very long with folks posting their experienced mileage, so I expect a mod will merge this into one of those soonish.

The most I've gone on one tank in my 250 was 487.4 miles and it took 15.049 gallons to fill back up, so that's 32.4 mpg. My display reads about 2 mpg higher so it would have been showing 34 mpg. That was all highway in WV in June.
I have noticed that even if you drive completely on a flat highway at a constant speed for a whole tank, the display shows higher mpg at the start of the tank (35 mpg), and goes down steadily until the end (30 mpg), even though you are burning fuel and getting lighter... go figure...

When I get my numbers, I look when it's near empty since I reset the trip when it was refilled then look.
