Default gs450h transmission

I have experienced sudden surges while I accelerate. this happens a few times at speed between 40 - 60 mph.

is this a known issue ?

The 450h uses a dual stage torque multiplication device which splits gear ratios in 2 stages, hence even when you increase speed at a very slow pace, you will feel a surge around 60 mph, this is when the 2nd stage starts.
The faster you accelerate, the more you will feel the speed pickup surge on the 2nd stage.

Not sure why you feel it around 40 mph - unless a completely different issue.

now i am facing new problems from the transmission ?

1. check hybrid system - 5 months now
2. front shocks - due for replacement as i am experiencing frequent slam/knocks/bumps

now there is vibration upon acceleration as long as the hybrid motor kicks in. the vibration is felt lesser when i shift manually (high rpm shift). there is no problem on rolling (acceleration off or on hybrid battery). i had a chance to look underneath the car when it got hoisted up with the engine running. the couplings at both ends of the propeller shaft are shaking. are they connected to the hybrid generator or pump (at the front side -engine and at the rear side- hybrid battery)?

question is - can the hybrid motor be misaligned due to the frequent bumps?
i am not convinced that the hybrid battery is the cause for the vibration as i do get full green bar on screen with this problem.

anyone had similar experience ?

after going in and out of workshops for the past few months, i still havent got a solution for the shaking..

the car drives smooth when i use the shifter manually especially in the 4th and 5th. i have since replaced the mountings and propellor shaft which improved the condition a little but now its back to zero.

now even in manual shifter, the car shakes! time to time, i will get the blinking VSC & CEL. sometimes it doesnt off..

Have you solved the check hybrid system warning?

this is not yet solved. The scans point to the battery

With everything you are describing, it seems what the scan suggests will fix your issue. I think if you do decide to fix that issue your problems will vanish. The sport gear selection, or "manual", is actually used for engine braking not shifting up through the gears...Jump to min 6:15.

1. I also have that same question, is the driveshaft using a clutch to connect and disconnect from the front gas engine to the rear end?

2. AND is the clutch at the front or the rear of the proppellor driveshaft?

3. When the car is running all electric and the gas engine is not running is the driveshaft still connected?

4. AND is the crank still spinning when the engine is not running but the car is moving under electric power??

When coming to a stop I can feel and hear something in my rear pat down as if the rear part of the driveshaft is being disconnected from the differential .
