2010-11 Oil Cooler Line Recall
#106
Looks like the mechanic was just guessing. I'm not a fan of going to the stealership either but they would have been able to quickly confirm if it had the TP or not. Looks like you'll need to get that VVT-i bank 1 line and cooler lines put on. I'm not sure if it's still under warranty in Georgia.
Bank 1 (rear) VVT-i all-metal oil line: 15772-31030
Crush washer: 90430-16016 x2
Revised all-metal engine oil cooler lines & gaskets: 04004-29131

Hey Gang
From the above posts and youtube videos I don't think my 2010 rx 450h has any rubber lines. Can anyone help me confirm?
- radiator < 1" thick
- 2GR-FXE engine on hood sticker
- can't find oil cooler
- vvt-i seems to be all metal
Can't see an oil cooler
Here either
Bad angle, but for sure less than an inch thick
This and the sticker on the hood both say 2GR-FXE. May be a red herring, but searches say this engine didn't have the rubber line oil cooler anyway.
VVT-I appears to be all metal from this view

There’s nothing in the vin decoder that I used to indicate anything about a tow package. So I think we’re in the clear. What vin decoder did you use? I used:https://www.vindecoderz.com/
thanks for your reply!

There are 2 VVTi oil lines, I see bank 2 (rad side) in your pic, but do see a pic of the bank 1 VVTi line (firewall side). Note this is separate from oil cooler lines if equipped, all 2GRs have VVTi lines.

Wow that is crazy, well maybe call a Lexus dealer in the lower 50? and see if your vin comes up?

So you are unable to look up your VIN on the Lexus Drivers Site? That is very strange. https://www.lexus.com/drivers

The Lexus drivers site didn't mention a towing package but my 2011 has one.
I changed the oil cooler lines related to that today. Not too bad. It's the nicest looking part I've ever replaced. 105,000 miles.
Second picture is a wrench I found essential for the upper farthest back nut.

They call them half moon wrenches but they come in 3 different shapes (?) The other shape has a straight section and opposing curves and wouldn't fit in there. And the third kind has a straight section that makes it too long.
