What octane fuel do you use?
I've been reading conflicting posts (most very old) about whether 87, 89, or 91/93 octane fuel should be used in the RX400h.
I know that it can run on 87 - but am wondering what your experience has been with engine "pinging" & pure MPG results. Some say that they see an INCREASE in MPG going to premium - while others have said that the engine may not be tuned for premium, and the MPG may actually the same or a little less than 87-octane.
Thanks

93. We don't have 91. This is a common topic and people have run theirs on lower octane with no adverse effects. Saving a few bucks on fuel isn't worth it to me. If you're curious then try it out and compare for your self.

Here in Arizona our fuel is not a high octane fuel, so just to be on the safe side I always use premium so have no idea how it will run and perform with anything less. Our 91 octane is loaded with ethanol 10% or they say oxygenated and you can not find "pure" gas here.

Perhaps one of these ethanol-free gas stations is in your area:

Give a call just to check to make sure what they have before making the drive and waste time and money.
