Car wont go into cruise and noise/vibration
Hey wanted to shre what happened to my better half this morning. She was driving to work at 70mph and noticed cruise wouldn't work and extreme grinding noise except when she took foot off gas. Had me going for a little bit over the phone, but I immediately thought the worst of inverter etc. Than she told me the power indicator was at 100 on the dial. I for some reason thought about the B position on the shifter, and yes that was the problem...Thank Goodness.....

Same here with my 2008 re. cruise not working on B.
But I never experienced a grinding noise, neither such high kW absorption.
Actually, if it weren't for the cruise not working, I could as well go to any speed without even understanding whether it's in D or B.
Of course, in B the other difference is that the engine helps braking while coasting.

Interesting what is the b mode actually for I had assumed it was there just to give, extra engine braking and to boost the regenerative energy system. So far have only used mine couple of times coming down hill. Would never have thought of using it in a cruise control situation.

yes it is used for braking or slowing down, my wife gets up at 3:30 am and goes to work at 5am so she just accidently went into B mode....
