I am getting overall mileage of 25. around 28 highway and 22-23 local. Vehicle has 115,000 miles.
I am having an issue with cracked dashboard, and had to paint the hood. Deal said this was unusual, but based on what I am reading here it is not

well.. the fact you had to repaint the hood.. sounds like sun damage and the car wasn't taken good care of cosmetically.. 6 years of not taking care of the car will do that to any car.. especially in a hot zone like FL.. the MPG has nothing to do with it..
i.e. no wash/wax, parked outside extensively..

I would get a full detail done immediately and maybe wash/wax every 6 months and at least a monthly wash in between.. the best protection would be parking in a garage or shaded carport and always use a sunshade on the front windshield when parked.. good luck..

Use some UV-blocking protectant such as 303 Aerospace protectant on the plastic, rubber, and vinyl (interior and exterior). That should stop any further sun damage. I use it after every car wash. It even keeps the wiper blades like new for years!
